April 3 New York Jewish Singles Jewmongous Passover Show

Sat, Apr 3, Doors 8 pm, $20

Music | JEWMONGOUS' PASSOVER EXTRAVAGANZA!

Jewmongous is "part of a new breed of Jewish hipster" that is "written for a generation of fully assimilated Jews who grew up on punk rock and 'South Park,'" or, as some might say, "the bastard love child Tenacious D and Fiddler on the Roof never had." It is the colicky, uncircumcised brain child of Sean Altman: the golden-voiced song-writing wiz and former leader/founder of Rockapella (of "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?" TV fame). Jewmongous' debut album Taller Than Jesus includes the fractured Passover story song "They Tried to Kill Us (We Survived, Let's Eat)", which was featured on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross; the ska-inflected "What the Hell is Simchas Torah?"; the cowboy romp "Long-Tongue Shloime"; the dysfunctional Bar Mitzvah anthem "Today I Am A Man"; and many more. You don't have to be Jewish to like it - but it couldn't hurt. www.92YTribeca.org/Music

Links Added.

Steppin Out is based in Chicago and runs adventure travel events.

-------------------------
From: Robin Richman

We are back from an amazing We were on our spring ski trip in Vail last week with 72 people.. Great time was had by all.
If you are on facebook,  you can check out some of the pictures on the facebook page here  or join the Steppin' Out group  on facebook

1) Our New Orleans trip price increases April first. If you register within the next 24 hours you can receive an additional $50 off the price.  $940. We have an amazing itinerary planned with the community while we are there.. during the day working hand in hand with a community that has been forgotten, learning the New Orleans cuisine as we prepare food for the homeless and school children. Pulitzer Prize winning authors to accompany us at various projects, participation in gospel service and/or Friday Night service at a synagogue. In addition, we'll take in the music and festivities at night with special venues for dancing, music and more. Information here

2) Don't delay for our Israel Adventure. Prices are the same as last year.. no increase. Our awesome itinerary covers the entire country - interacting with the people, while hiking, climbing, tasting and doing. It's a special way to see Israel.  Full details here. Price goes up $175 after April 1.  Information here

3) Our partner in Crete, Crete's Culinary Sanctuary,  is offering an amazing Six Day Culinary Seminar and Adventure. Join them in celebrating the fascinating geology, botany and cultural-culinary heritage of Crete.
Organic food and wine is on the menu. A few spots are left.  For more info, click here http://www.steppinoutadventures.com/pdfs/Crete_april_10.pdf

4) Cuzco, the land of the Incas and a must visit in a lifetime was hit by heavy rains in early February which devastated thousands of farms, bridges and houses. Many people cancelled their trips and now thousands of families who depend on tourists for their income are affected even more.  The train service to Macchu Picchu will reopen this week. We will be offering our Multi-Sport Adventure with a minimum of 3 people, so if you are interested in traveling this summer, please let us know the dates and we will arrange. Details are here

5) Are you involved or work for a non-profit? Our new division, Do Good Adventures would love to hear what you are doing and how we might help. If you are hosting/holding an event -- let us know and we can put it on our calendar.
